Dr. Anish Kumar Warrier, an Associate Professor of Geology at MAHE, holds M Sc and Ph D degrees in Marine Geology from Mangalore University. With a focus on Climate Change and Environmental Pollution, particularly microplastics, Dr. Warrier has conducted extensive research using lake and coastal sediments. His academic journey includes a Post-doctoral fellowship at the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (Government of India), Goa, and four research expeditions to Antarctica. Dr. Warrier has authored 60 research papers in WoS-indexed journals and received numerous awards, including the K. K. Menon Award in Sedimentology and the Young Sedimentologists’ Award.
Dr. Warrier has secured significant research funding and initiated pioneering environmental microplastics research at MAHE. As a reviewer for prestigious research journals and a collaborator with international institutions, including the British Antarctic Survey and the National Institute of Polar Research (Japan), Dr. Warrier actively contributes to global scientific discourse. Dr. Warrier’s profile showcases a distinguished career dedicated to advancing geoscience education, conducting impactful research, and addressing critical environmental challenges.
