The School of Policy and Governance is pleased to announce a Certificate Course in Climate Change & Net Zero, through a well-paced 12-weekend, virtual programme beginning on Saturday, 21 January 2023, and ending on Sunday, 9 April, 2023. This course presents participant learners with a great opportunity to advance their understanding of Climate Change and Net Zero, with global and Indian perspectives. It is designed to address and unpack the fundamentals of the global climate crisis, the science of climate change, impact, vulnerability and risk, and the need and ways to build climate resilience and act collectively and as individuals.
The Certificate Course in Climate Change & Net Zero is entirely delivered online, featuring live webinars, workshops, self-study, interactive learning tools, and assignments to inculcate active learning on climate change and Net Zero.
Every Saturday and Sunday through the duration of the course, learning modules will be delivered between 10 am and 1.30 pm by well-known experts, academicians and practitioners from the field.

ASSESMENTS
Mid-Term and Final Assignments: Details of the nature of assessments shall be communicated to all registered participant learners. Broadly, the assessments consist of in-class activities and assignments, a more descriptive mid-term assignment to help students absorb and test their own understanding of knowledge gained half way through the course. The Course ends with a Final Assignment. These activities are designed to aid students in developing their analytical and presentation ability by attempting to articulate their analysis and opinions coherently in writing/through presentations/projects. All assignments shall be announced at the start of the course and detailed out in the Course Outline and Handbook, besides being released on the course webpage.

WORKSHOP ORIENTED
Intensive workshops are a critical element of the climate change course. They allow students to interact with their peers as well as environmental specialists with similar experiences. Students benefit from hands-on experience of key issues related to Climate Change and Net Zero. Details of workshop topics shall be made available to all registered participant learners.
ACTIVE PARTICIPATION
Entirely delivered online, the Course will feature live webinars, workshops, self-study, interactive learning tools, and assignments to inculcate active policy learning. You will have the opportunity to learn from . Each Module would require six hours of your active, virtual classroom participation besides the effort and time input required for self-study, workshop preparation, assessments and assignments. Every Saturday and Sunday, through the duration of the course, you will be expected to offer your full attention to the session, with a half hour nutrition and relaxation break in between. It is, on the whole, a planned, learning experience, but guest lectures or workshops might get scheduled on some evenings depending upon the availability of experts. We encourage your fullest and active participation in the course so you can leverage maximum benefit.

All modules are compulsory for enrolled students, and they are strongly advised to attend all course webinars. Registered candidates will receive a detailed schedule of webinars for each weekend from the start of the term until the end.
