Mr. Ashutosh Makup, has joined National Productivity Council, Govt. of India in 2008 as Assistant Director (Industrial Engineering) and presently serving as Director in the Council.
During his 16 years with the council, he has worked with monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment of various schemes, programmes and policies of central government ministries like Ministry of Minority Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Dept. of Planning & Convergence of Govt. of Odisha.
He was a key member in monitoring & implementation of the flagship scheme of Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises, the Lean Manufacturing Competitive Scheme (LMCS) since 2009-18 which aims to improve manufacturing competitiveness of Indian MSMEs. Presently, he is the National Coordinator for implementation of the revised scheme, MSME Competitive Lean Scheme (MCLS) of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India for improving manufacturing competitiveness of the MSMEs.
He has also been involved with various projects on the areas of Organizational Restructuring, Manpower Assessment, Designing of Productivity Norms, productivity improvement, formulation of HR policy etc. Some of the premiere organizations include Airport Authority of India, Coal India, NIOS, BRPL, Kirloskar Ferrous Engineering Ltd. etc.
Mr. Makup has done master’s in engineering in Industrial Engineering and completed LLB. He has been conferred as the Best Consultant by Asian Productivity Organization, Japan in 2017 and in 2022 for his outstanding leadership & acumen in carrying out consultancy.
